More and more, companies are realizing that diversity and inclusion are the driving forces behind productivity in the workplace. Diversity and inclusion highlight something super important: authenticity.

Authenticity is the key to unlocking our true potential and fostering a workplace that champions equity. It’s important to note that diversity is not just skin deep. In fact, it’s about embracing unique perspectives, backgrounds, beliefs, and differences. It’s recognizing what each of us brings to the table.

Here are some ways you, as employees, can bring your whole self to work, and promote workplace equity:
- Embrace what makes you unique. It’s so important to honor who you are and the perspective that only you can bring to the table. This is what sets you apart and adds value to your team.
- Be anally. Advocate for your colleagues and support them. Listen with empathy and amplify underrepresented voices.
- Create an open dialogue. Work to encourage open conversation and active listening. These safe spaces to learn from each other are vital.
- Challenge bias. Shine a light on your own biases as well as the ones around you. Challenge those biases.
- Lead by example. You can be the one who sets the standard for authenticity and equity. In a perfect world, leadership happens from the top down, but sometimes creating real change means being the leader when it’s necessary.

No matter your position, you can be a huge part of creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, appreciated, and respected. Most importantly, you can help people bring their whole selves to work.
